ECafrique is unique in that, unlike other EC consortia, we work directly at the country-level to mainstream EC services.  We actively support service delivery interventions throughout Africa, collaborating with both the public and private sectors to procure EC stocks, test service delivery innovations, and integrate EC in national standards.  In Kenya and Ethiopia, which were the first African nations in nearly a decade to introduce dedicated EC pills into the public sector, we provide ongoing technical assistance to the Ministries of Health.  In Zambia, Malawi and Ethiopia, we are facilitating the registration of Postinor 2 with national pharmaceutical regulatory agencies; and in Zambia, we are testing new strategies to provide EC to survivors of sexual violence.  In West Africa, we have recently launched an initiative that synthesizes and builds upon the lessons of previous introductory trials conducted in four Francophone countries: Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Congo Brazzaville, and Ivory Coast.
