Like Chocolate: Adolescent Emergency Contraceptive Use in Nairobi Presented preliminary findings of ECafrique-sponsored assessment “Like Chocolate: Adolescent Emergency Contraception Use in Nairobi” which was prompted by newspaper article, that adolescent girls in Nairobi were using EC like chocolates
Emergency Contraception for Survivors of Sexual Assault in Zambia Presented findings on intervention study on Emergency Contraception for Survivors of Sexual Assault. The study tests the feasibility of providing EC through the survivor's first point of institutional contact (FPCs).
Population Association of American Annual Meeting Preliminary results from the ECafrique -sponsored assessment “ Like Chocolate: Adolescent Emergency Contraception Use in Nairobi” were presented at the Population Association of American Annual Meeting (Los Angeles) by Karen P. Fogg, an M.P.H student at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. It was awarded the prize for best poster in the “Fertility, Family Planning, and Reproductive Health” session.

Dissemination workshop of the results of Emergency Contraception in Sénégal. ECafrique and partner Equilibres & Populations convened a high-level meeting in Senegal to discuss the results of a national needs assessment and identify concrete action steps for mainstreaming EC services within the public sector.
National rollout of EC in Kenya The Kenyan Ministry of Health, Division of Reproductive Health, PATH Kenya and ECafrique sponsored a two-day workshop to strategize the national roll out of EC in the Kenyan public sector. The workshop addressed such issues as distribution; documentation; monitoring EC uptake; provision of EC technical updates to providers; and increasing public awareness of EC.
RHRU Priorities Conference ECafrique, the Compton Foundation, and the Reproductive Health Research Unit (RHRU) sponsored a panel discussion on EC at the 11th Reproductive Health Priorities Conference, October 5-8 in Sun City South Africa. ECafrique coordinator John Skibiak delivered the keynote address, which described the current state of EC service delivery in Africa.
Ethiopian Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference In May 2004, ECafrique sponsored a panel on EC at the annual conference of the Ethiopian Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology, in Addis Ababa.
International Conference on Implementing Best Practices PATH and ECafrique jointly presented a poster at the International Conference on Implementing Best Practices, held in June 2004 in Entebbe, Uganda. The poster provided an overview of the new PATH toolkit with particular emphasis on three sections likely to be of greatest relevance to African audiences.
